This week's Club Note is a little different. I wanted to share with you one of the letters I used to write to myself — trying to fall in love with the woman I had forgotten I was, after so many, many disappointments. Mainly from myself.
Reading them now means a great deal to me. I can see the actual, visual choices I made to love myself.
Armour is heavy.
Most of us wear it so well we forget we ever put it on.
More makeup. Better posture. The polite heels.
It looks like strength.
Mostly, it keeps people out.
Take one piece off this week.
Not all of it. Just one.
See who still recognises you.
