As a child, I thought it was the fire.

As I grew older, I realised it was something else.

One day, I heard a story about a dragon that lived alone on a mountain.

He wasn't hunting anyone.

He wasn't looking for war.

He simply wanted to be left alone.

But the people below were terrified of him.

Not because of what he had done.

Because of what they imagined he might do.

So they attacked.

Again and again.

Until one day, the dragon finally unleashed his fire.

And the people called him a monster.

No one spoke about the years he spent trying not to become one.
